The brainchild of artist and entrepreneur Lorrie Veasey, Tiles for America began as one impassioned individual’s tribute to those who lost their lives on 9/11, and grew to become a powerful art project that telegraphed an entire community’s grief and well wishes for a city struggling to heal from an inconceivable tragedy. My dog and I walk by this art installation on NYC’s Greenwich Avenue with regularity, and the shadows it casts on the pavement add yet another dimension to the meaning of the work, and I always find it mesmerizing.

DIY Easy Scrabble Tile Pendant. This is one of my favorite jewelry posts here and I was amazed to find out it was a scrabble tile. So I was so happy to find this excellent tutorial from Artsy VaVa here.

Wow.
